Practices This Week:

• No Cubs practices
• Monday and Tuesday: regular practice times for ALL 6U Bears through 15-18s.  
• Wed: Practice for those swimming in Champs (coaches may email a revised practice schedule)
• Wed: Invitational meet at home DVAC, warm-ups 4pm
• Thurs/Fri: Practice for those swimming in Champs (coaches may email a revised practice schedule)
• Sat: Champs at the Robert Livermore Community Center pool

Swim Lessons with the Coaches on 7/15/25

• Great opportunity to learn 1:1 from our fabulous swim coaches.
• Lessons are 25 minutes at the Cal High Pool
• Payment is due directly to the coaches at the lesson.  Contact the coach on their preferred form of payment.  
• Sign-ups for lessons will be sent out weekly.
• If you cancel within 48 hours, you are responsible for paying for the lesson, unless you find a replacement.
• Swimmers may share a lane with another swimmer for their private lesson.

Shave Down & Kona Ice @ Compass Point Park- 

TODAY, 7/14, 4pm

Join your coaches and teammates in this fun and wild event: our time-honored tradition of the Shave Down. The biggest shaving cream fight in San Ramon. 

• Swimmers of all ages are invited. Kids who prefer to stay clean are still encouraged to join and help dispense shaving cream.
• Each swimmer is required to bring 2 cans of shaving cream and be in their swimsuit, cap, & goggles.
• Bring a towel and hose down at Harrison Hsue’s yard afterward.
• Stick around for shaved ice from Kona Ice at 4:30pm. Bonus: 20% goes back to our team. 

*Please note that there are no restrooms at this park. Plan ahead!

Glam Up, Tuesday, 7/15, 9 am - 12 n during practice

Help our Aqua Bear’s glam up before they go to Invitationals or Champs. We will be on deck doing nails, a craft and temporary tattoos. Aqua Bear 11 & up and parents are welcome to sign up HERE and help. Please let me know if you have any questions Qmy Hendrickson 925-21-7885.

Schinnerer-Podany Award Voting

Voting will take place Tue, July 15 - Noon, Wednesday, July 16 for the Schinnerer-Podany Award at the pool. Parents of younger swimmers...please help them think about who they would like to vote for, and help them cast their vote. Follow this link for more info and to view past recipients.

End of Season Slideshow Photos Due Wednesday

Send us your awesome photos/short videos to be considered for this year’s slideshow! Either email individual photos or a shared drive link to [email protected] . Please note: If there is one photo in particular that you would really like included in the slideshow, please indicate it as such. Awards Prep Night, Thur, 5:30 -7:30 pm

Calling adults who love busy work! We need all hands on deck to assemble award bags for all 200 swimmers. These personalized medals and bling will be given to every Aqua Bear at Awards Night. Bring a snack or drink to share when we are all done!

AWARDS NIGHT and SLIDE SHOW

Saturday, July 19, 5:30 ~ 9:20 pm

Central Park Amphitheatre, San Ramon

• EVERY SWIMMER AND THEIR FAMILY IS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND AWARDS NIGHT; don’t miss out!  Every swimmer will receive something at awards night!  
• It is a special night to thank all of our volunteers and coaches. We will recognize granny bears & announce the recipient of the prestigious Schinnerer-Podany Award (click to see past recipients).  
• The slideshow will conclude the Award’s ceremony. It will make you smile, laugh and cry and make all of those practices worth it!  
• Each family should bring their own beverages and either a nut free appetizer or nut free dessert that is a finger food (needs no utensils to serve or eat)  
• Be sure to bring a picnic blanket to sit on or chairs
• Take home your swimmer’s award bag or arrange for someone to pick it up for you if you will not be able to attend.
